What is your background?
Originally from the window and façade industry, I spent 14 years working for a UK leading façade ironmongery manufacturer supplying to distributors, systems companies and manufacturers within Italy across to Eastern Europe, north to Russia and east to Turkey and Azerbaijan.
I then moved into smoke ventilation setting up a supply only division for SE Controls where I built a sales team of 8 staff within the UK and then moved on to develop export sales globally, setting up new business in Australia, Poland, Gibraltar, Jersey, ROI, Northern Ireland and developing existing accounts in Israel.
What was your previous role?
Divisional Sales Manager Supply and then Export Manager Supply
What does your new role entail?
Developing new business in the high rise residential market and delivering CPD presentations to consultants and other influencers.
What have you brought to the role from previous experience?
- Understanding of customer needs within our market.
- Industry knowledge of industry reg and standards
- Market knowledge of competitors and their systems
What are your main aims and responsibilities in the role?
- Increasing market awareness of our brand and our current value proposition
- Getting our brand specified in new tenders
- Ensuring we are the go-to company for smoke ventilation
What attracted you to FDS and to the role?
I was interested in being part of the next stage of growth and development that FDS aspire to and being able to have a positive input in that success.
What has been your experience so far?
Working in a relaxed atmosphere with realistic goals and a team that are focused on the improvement and development of the brand and product performance.
