Training & Development

We believe that our success is wholly due to the effort and technical ability of the people who work at Fire Design Solutions, and we place emphasis on gaining and sharing knowledge in order to grow individual skills and expertise throughout the company.

Our people are encouraged to share with colleagues the lessons they have learnt from project work, training courses, seminars, conferences and professional meetings. Information can be passed on through internal presentations, informal talks, and site visits.

We hold project reviews and debriefs enabling senior staff to provide valuable input into project design. We encourage debate and discussion amongst staff, which is a significant contribution to the continual improvement process.

We are also committed to the personal and professional development of our staff, monitored through a structured annual appraisal and review process. As part of this appraisal process, each member of staff works through a Professional Development Plan with a Director. The aim of the plan is to focus on personal as well as just purely project-related goals for the year ahead, with a view to enabling staff to build on their respective strengths and identify areas of development and training. Each individual has a training profile.

Fire Design Solutions encourages people to achieve relevant qualifications and provides training under accredited schemes.

In addition, we offer structured training programmes for all levels of staff, helping them to grow and maintain skills and to keep up to date with current industry trends and developments.
