Fire Design Solutions was founded in 2001 by Gerard Sheridan and Andy Riley, both fully qualified fire engineers with decades of fire consultancy and contracting experience.

With a reputation for excellence in fire safety system design and installation, our continued growth saw the business move to new head offices in Kent during 2006. Here, each department has been built around specialists within their respective fields.

From our internationally renowned research and testing department to our expert team of Project Managers, Fire Design Solutions is shaped to deliver fire safety solutions that set new standards for the industry.

Working closely with various approving bodies and backed by extensive fire modeling, this has included justifying extended travel distances up to 30m in a single direction - an invaluable tool for our growing client portfolio, helping them realise greater habitable space and significant cost savings.

The company is also firmly committed to nurturing the next generation of fire safety specialists through recruiting fresh fire engineering graduates. Working alongside our established fire engineers, they will develop their knowledge and understanding of building design with the aim to take fire safety to even higher levels.
